Chinkarapu
Qechua; means something like “swallowed by the earth” or “disappeared.” It became famous through a story of Juan Núñez del Prado in which Doña Natty, wife of Don Benito Qoriwaman, used this term.
When Juan Núñez del Prado went to visit Don Benito Qoriwaman at his house in the early 1980s, Doña Natty told him that her husband had (once again) disappeared. This was one of the peculiarities of Don Benito: whenever he needed a break from his students or his clients, he disappeared into the mountains without telling his wife. She was not really happy about it and to describe where her husband was she used the term chinkarapu.
