Hatun Karpay (Peru)
ANCIENT INITIATION JOURNEY WITH IVAN AND JUAN NUÑEZ DEL PRADO
Hatun Karpay means Great Power or Great Transformation. In this spiritual journey you follow a well-defined process in which you undergo a cycle of initiations and rituals that help you train your spirituality, discover your full potential and develop your personal power.
There are three Hatun Karpays available for you to participate in:
❖ Hatun Karpay (right path)
❖ Hatun Karpay (middle path)
❖ Hatun Karpay (left path).
The Hatun Karpay (right path) and the Hatun Karpay (left path) were developed centuries ago by the Inkas and passed on orally from teacher to student – most recently by Don Benito Qoriwaman and Don Melchor Deza, two famous masters from the Cusco region, to Juan Nuñez del Prado.
The Hatun Karpay (middle path) was developed by Juan and Ivan Nuñez del Prado themselves a few years ago. These two teachers spent many years researching very specific places and locations. Following the structure of the other two Hatun Karpays, they then harmoniously combined them with the corresponding exercises.

More Informationimportant to know
All three spiritual journeys differ significantly from each other – both in the emphasis on the respective development processes and in the places you visit.
If you take part in several Hatun Karpays, you will notice that some of the power places seem familiar to you as you are visiting them for the second time. At the same time you will never repeat your work there, but always get to know a different facet of the place and the spirituality.
You may book all three Hatun Karpays together or take part in just one – as your time and travel budget allow. You may complete these spiritual journeys in one year or take several years.
The tour guide’s languages for the Hatun Karpays are always English and Spanish.
Even if you are not yet familiar with the Inka tradition, you are welcome to take part in the Hatun Karpay of your choice.
JOURNEY TO QOYLLURRIT’I
Would you like to visit the famous festival of Qoylurrit’i? Ivan offers participation in this sacred pilgrimage, which you can book before or after a Hatun Karpay or as an individual event.
If you are not sure whether you are up to the physical exertion (the demands are not high), please talk to me or your trusted doctor.
The tour guide’s languages for the Hatun Karpays are always English and Spanish.
Focus
This Hatun Karpay emphasizes more the masculine aspects of your development process, such as logic, knowledge or structure.
In this journey you literally sow your so-called Inka seed seed into the earth, a metaphysical factor that represents your total potential and meaning in life. You then learn to make this seed germinate and blossom in order to further develop your personality and to use this power for yourself. In doing so, you will also be prepared for the next stage of your spiritual growth.
The Hatun Karpay takes you to powerful places and temples, such as Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, Saqsaywaman and Machu Picchu. Even if you don't know the Inka tradition yet, you are welcome to join this spiritual adventure in Peru.

The aim of this Hatun Karpay (which you can also see as a training) is that you experience both a harmonious integration of your inner powers and a deep personal exploration of your soul.

Food/ Food Intolerances
Peru has an extremely good and varied cuisine. Therefore, a vegetarian or even vegan diet is possible there. For people who suffer from food intolerances, such as gluten, cow’s milk, sugar, certain nuts, fruits, or vegetables, the local organizers will speak with the service staff so that they can always cater to individual needs.
If you have food intolerances that you know need to be well organized in advance, please send me an email before booking the trip so that I can clarify in advance whether the organizers can meet these requirements.
Fitness/ Conditions of Trails
In terms of physical stamina, you should be able to go for one-hour walks in low mountain ranges. If you are uncertain, please speak to a doctor you trust.
Unfortunately, the Hatun Karpay is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the nature of the paths.
Vaccination
Please check your State Department’s website for further information.
Yellow fever
When traveling to the designated yellow fever areas, especially for the entire Peruvian Amazon region, all travelers aged 9 months or older are strongly recommended to be vaccinated in good time, i.e. 10 days before entry. Coming from the Peruvian Amazon region, the vaccination may be required for onward travel to a third country (information: as of January 2017).
Please note that during the Hatun Karpay you DO NOT visit the Amazon region.
Insurance
Since life is not always predictable and plannable, I strongly recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance, as this (in many cases) will cover cancellation fees and protect you from the financial consequences should you be unable to participate in this trip.
Please note Inka World’s cancellation fees. I adhere to the legal regulations for travel agents; I therefore explicitly place the responsibility for incidents that lie outside my responsibility in your hands.
Especially with regard to illnesses such as COVID-19 or sudden family incidents, travel cancellation insurance is really recommended. Please do not transfer this personal risk to Inka World, as I may not be able to be as accommodating as I would like to be.
In my opinion, international health insurance is necessary whereas accident insurance is sensible (but not essential).
Cancellation fees
All events involve significant financial commitments. Since the groups are small and rather informal Inka World charges cancellation fees in the event that you cancel your participation before the start of the event.
These cancellation fees are based on the time of your cancellation and are staggered as follows:
- Up to 91 days before the start of the tour: a flat rate of 25% of the tour price
- 90 to 45 days before the start of the tour: a flat rate of 50% of the tour price
- 44 days to 15 days before the start of the tour: a flat rate of 75% of the tour price
- 14 days or less before the start of the trip: a flat rate of 90% of the trip price
If you are unable to participate in the trip, you are free to provide a replacement person. As soon as this person has paid the full travel price, you will be refunded the participation fee already paid less a processing fee of EUR 50. Please note that Inka World does not pay any bank charges for the refund of the participation fee.
Further information
As soon as Juan and Ivan confirmed that the Hatun Karpay takes place, I will send to all participants a PDF file that contains many information on topics such as flights, passport/visa, weather/climate, clothing, cash/currency, internet/Wi-Fi, adapters/electricity and more as well as a packing list for cloths.
Due to his advanced age, Juan Nuñez del Prado may cancel his participation in an event at short notice. In this case, his son Ivan, who has worked closely with his father for more than 30 years, will hold the event alone. Therefor a free cancellation is not possible for this reason.
In case you have any questions please don’t hesitate to send me an email.
